Someday YOU will stand before GOD

Dear Friend: SOMEDAY YOU AND I MUST STAND BEFORE GOD. Can you think of anything more sobering than that? Do not think for a moment that you can avoid this appointment. God has already warned us: “It is appointed unto men ONCE TO DIE, but after this THE JUDGMENT.” (Hebrews 9:27) How horrible that day will be for those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ! “How shall WE escape, if WE neglect so great salvation...” (Hebrews 2:3) Please notice carefully how you can prepare to face God.

NONE ARE RIGHTEOUS

Here is the way God sees the human race: “As it is written, there is NONE RIGHTEOUS, no not one.” (Romans 3:10) NONE! “For ALL HAVE SINNED and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) Dear Friend, no one looks for a doctor until he realizes he is sick, and no one seeks the Savior until he realizes he is a sinner. Are you ready to ADMIT TO GOD AND TO YOURSELF that YOU are a SINNER in the sight of a holy God?

THE UNRIGHTEOUS CANNOT GO TO HEAVEN

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?” (I Cor. 6:9) “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalms 9:17) There is NO WAY that you can enter God’s heaven until something is done about your sin.

YOU CANNOT CREATE YOUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For they being ignorant of GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS, and going about to establish THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, have not submitted themselves unto the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.” (Romans 10:3) Dear Friend, church membership, baptism, giving to the poor, living a moral life, etc., cannot make you righteous in the sight of God.

YOU CAN BE RIGHTEOUS THROUGH JESUS

“For HE (God) hath made HIM (Jesus) to be sin for US, who knew no sin; that WE might be made the righteousness of God in HIM.” (II Cor. 5:21) “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the JUST for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit.” (I Peter 3:18) How much God loves us! He allowed His own Son to be crucified on a cruel cross so that we could be saved.

YOU CAN HAVE CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS RIGHT NOW

For CHRIST is the end of the law for righteousness to EVERYONE that BELIEVETH....That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved....For WHOSOEVER shall CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD shall be SAVED.” (Romans 10:4, 9, 13)
